Located in Port St. Lucie, our team at JASD, Inc. is proud to serve our fellow South Florida residents. We’ve helped residents of Lakewood Park, Fort Pierce, Jupiter, Hobe Sound, and other towns along the Treasure Coast. Fires can strike without warning and can turn your life upside down. They can be caused by a lightning strike, a blown circuit, or a grease fire that got out of control in the kitchen. Whatever the cause, our certified and trained technicians are here to restore your home and business so that your life can return to normal.
The initial damage done by the flames in a fire is just the beginning. The remaining smoke and soot contain acids that can continue doing damage to your home’s structure and contents. A larger fire might also mean that you should board up windows or doors if they were compromised. If the fire damaged your roof, you might need to put a tarp over it. It’s important to know what to do immediately after your home has suffered the ravages of fire. At JASD, Inc., we realize that the first 24 hours are crucial. The following steps should be taken to prevent further damage and to begin the process of restoration.
A house fire is, first and foremost, a great danger to you and your family. Therefore, your first step should be to call the fire department to extinguish it or verify that it's fully extinguished. Once this is handled, you need to contact a fire restoration company that offers 24/7 emergency services. The shelter is one of the basic prerequisites of survival, and depending on the extent of the damage, your family may not have a home to live in until it's fixed and restored.
After calling JASD, Inc., one of our certified technicians will come out and do a comprehensive, professional assessment of the damage. This will determine the extent to which smoke, fire, soot, and any water used to put out the fire have permeated the home. This is a crucial step because it's the basis of an accurate estimate for restoring the property.
This step is why acting quickly is so important. We'll put tarps over any fire-damaged portions of the roof and board up any windows so that the next rainstorm won't add water damage to the fire damage. Assuming your home already suffered water damage from the fire department trying to put the fire out, we are also experts at mitigating and fixing that damage.
We use special chemicals to wipe down the walls and ceilings that neutralize the acid in soot. This is followed by using a commercial-grade degreaser on the floors, doors, cabinets, and other surfaces. We then neutralize the odors in the home by using a thermal fogger. This permeates the home with a scented cleaner that can get into cracks and crevices. We also clean out your air ducts and any soot trapped in your HVAC system. We will do a thorough cleaning job to try to salvage as much as possible.
If the fire was bad, there would be some damage renovation work needed. This is where our licensed general contractors will replace any damaged flooring, countertops, doors, cabinets, and anything else. This includes any needed painting, plumbing, and electrical work. We have experienced home remodelers. This means you have the option of having us restore your home to how it was, or you can have us give you the kitchen or bathroom of your dreams.
